Intermediate Handgun
This class is for the intermediate shooter. We will review and reinforce the basic safety and manipulation skills in and around handling a firearm. This class is to push the shooter out of their comfort zone and apply their skills around scenarios designed to emulate real world situations. Students will also be introduced to malfunctions associated with their firearms and the preferred clearing methods.
CURRICULUM OUTLINE
- Review of the basic safety rules in presentation and handling of a firearm
- Review the seven elements of marksmanship
- Introduce control pair shooting and accelerated pair shooting
- “Failure drills”
- Shooting on the move in tight spaces
- Shooting with a partner while making entry
- Shooting around barriers
- Shooting with objects in the foreground
- Shooting from oblique angles
- Reloading drills
- Malfunction drills
- Skills competition at the end!
Cost
$400 per person
What to bring
- Modern semi-automatic pistol in good working order (9mm or greater preferred)
- 3 or more working magazines for your pistol
- 150-200 rounds of ammunition
- Holster and magazine pouches for your pistol.*
NO SERPA STYLE HOLSTERS - Sturdy belt
What to wear
Shooting range appropriate clothing (No open-toed shoes), Ladies: please do not wear low-cut shirts. Pants, no shorts.
Duration
Approximately 4-5 hours
Important Note: The course duration is an estimated time frame. Actual start and end time, and overall duration may fluctuate depending on the flow of the class, accommodations for students, delays in arrival of students, and other things that may extend, or even shorten the course duration. Please allow for flexibility in regards to duration and end time of courses.
Refund Policy – Any refunds will be subject to a 5% restocking fee. Refunds are only available if requested before 48 hours of the scheduled class. No refunds after the 48-hour window, but we can schedule you to a different date if you are unable to attend.
