SHOOTING UNDER NIGHT VISION

Who’s it for?

This course is designed for the new night vision device owner, seeking to learn how to shoot in conjunction with a helmet-worn night vision device. This introductory course focuses on fundamental concepts when shooting under night vision. From zeroing your IR laser, passive aiming, white light override, manipulation techniques and more! Successful completion of this course will also grant an “NV Alumni” status to participate in monthly night vision shoots and competitions. To attend this course, you must have successfully completed the Night Vision Assessment Course. If you have not completed and passed the Assessment Course, your registration will be canceled.

WHAT TO BRING
  • Modern Working Night Vision Device
  • Helmet & NVG Mount
  • Reliable carbine equipped with IR aiming laser and NVG capable optic
  • 3-5 rifle Magazines
  • 250-300 rounds of rifle ammunition (No steel case, steel core, green-tip, bi-metal jacket)
  • Reliable pistol with Optical Red Dot Sight
  • 2-3 pistol magazines
  • 50-100 rounds of pistol ammunition (No steel case, steel core, bi-metal jacket)
  • Duty belt/battle belt rig
  • Optional chest-rig or plate carrier setup
  • Optional strobe or indicator light/glow sticks
WHAT TO WEAR
  • Sturdy hiking shoes/boots
  • Pants, no shorts
  • Kneepads optional
  • Weather-appropriate clothing, check the weather for the course date.
